“Unprecedented Times” Solo Cycling Challenge benefiting Loaves & Fishes
Many people have been discussing safe solo bicycle routes on social media in recent days. Loaves & Fishes / Tour de Turns offers the following south Charlotte neighborhood routes for your solo riding enjoyment. These routes will NOT be marked marked with route arrows, so you must DOWNLOAD the routes shown in the links below into a bike computer or smart phone that has navigation abilities.
In these unprecedented times, Loaves & Fishes has already experienced record levels of need and it is only going to get worse before it gets better. Please consider donating to https://loavesandfishes.org/donate-today/ to help those in need. We are working with some of our perennial Tour de Turns sponsors that may match your donation. VERY IMPORTANT - When you donate, please make sure to type “Solo Challenge” in the “(Optional) Comments” field, so we can have one of our sponsor companies match your donation. WIN a wahoo!!! The person that makes the largest donation will win a wahoo ELEMNT BOLT GPS bike computer. Thanks to wahoo Fitness for their generous donation.
Lane Holbert, founder and route master of Tour de Turns and this Solo Cycling Challenge, rode the 100-Mile Route solo on March 21st. Yes, his arse was sore when he finished but he saw many beautiful homes and landscapes along the route to offset the pain in his arse! Lane will donate $100 for the first person that completes the 100-Mile Route. Bob Carter, event director of Tour de Turns, will donate $100 for the first person to complete the 50 or 75-Mile Route. Please email your bike computer file or Strava file to email@example.com.
These solo cycling routes go through beautiful south Charlotte neighborhoods and have mostly right-hand turns. All routes start and finish at Carmel Road Neighborhood Park which is located at 2365 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC.
